Refurbished ARCHOS Tablets

If you are feeling a little strapped for cash these days but want to stay up with the trends and get yourself an Android tablet, getting a refurbished tablet might be the way to go. Too often people hear “refurbished” and immediately think: crappy product. While we can’t speak for every company’s refurbished products, we can speak for ARCHOS and the refurbished products we sell. Our refurbished tablets, mp3 players and pc tablet computers are in excellent condition and are a great product for an even more affordable price!

What does refurbished even mean?

Refurbish literally means to make fresh, clean or bright again. For ARCHOS, refurbish refers to an item that was returned to our warehouse for some cosmetic flaw or minor hardware issue, which was then corrected and restored to like-new conditions. We then sell these products for a discounted price to customers. So sure, it’s not brand spanking new, but it’s pretty darn close.

How do you know it’s actually like-new?

Every single one of ARCHOS’ refurbished products are required to pass an extensive 15-point inspection to ensure the quality of these products meet and exceed the increasingly high standards of ARCHOS products. The 15-point inspection includes:
• Cosmetics
• Buttons
• Headphones
• Speakers
• Sound test
• Recording
• Display
• WiFi
• Touchscreen (if applicable)
• PC connection (all options)
• Test both rec options
• Battery
• Backlight
• Firmware
• LCD Clarity (pixilations/dead pixels/delay screen, etc.)

Not only do we put our refurbished products through this extensive screening process, we also offer a 6-month warranty, original documentation, and standard accessories with all ARCHOS refurbished products.

How much can you save?

The savings can be as much as 20%! That’s quite a bit when we are talking about products costing hundreds of dollars. For instance, a brand new ARCHOS 80 G9 Turbo ICS 8GB Multi-Core 1.5GHz tablet costs $230. A refurbished one on the other hand will only cost you $185. That means your have an extra $45 sitting in your pocket to spend on other things like Android accessories, applications, and more. You definitely get more bang for your buck with a refurbished product.

So, when considering a tablet on a tighter budget or just in general, don’t rule out refurbished products. They are a great alternative to a brand new product. If you have any more questions or comments about our refurbished products, feel free to comment on our Facebook page.

5 Android Tablets to Make This Christmas Magical

Christmas is just a week away but if you haven’t finished your shopping for all the special people in your life, don’t fret! We’ve put together a list of 5 of the year’s best Android tablets. Because you just can’t go wrong with the right tablet! To help you pick the most fitting tablet for your special loved one, we’ve given a quick description of 5 of the year’s best products from the Android tablet world.

ARCHOS 97 Carbon

Powered by Android 4.0, ‘Ice Cream Sandwich,’ the 97 Carbon features a number of updates to benefit your user experience. The 97 Carbon is stylish and portable with a brushed aluminum casing and a high gloss finish, measuring 0.45 inches thick and weighing only 21.8 ounces with a 1024 x 768 pixel, 9.7 inch IPS screen. Beautifully designed and optimized for tablets, it gives you a full web experience for on-the-go web browsing, communication and applications. Optimized for Google Play, the 97 carbon offers full access to over 600,000 apps and games, millions of music tracks, and thousands of movies, TV shows, books and magazines. The 97 carbon includes 16GB of internal flash memory, expandable both via the microSD slot or a USB flash drive in its full-sized USB host port. A quality product at an affordable rate, the 97 Carbon is available for purchase through our online shop for just $249.99.

Google Nexus 7

The Nexus 7 with Android 4.2 features a sharp screen, comfortable design, and great battery life at a low starting price of $199 for 16 GB and $249 for 32 GB. Android 4.2 adds some welcome and useful features. The Nexus 7 tablet is black with a leathery, grippy back texture for some extra panache and comfort. With its excellent design, useful software features, and low starting price, the Nexus 7 is a cheap way to experience what Android OS has to offer.

The Kindle Fire HD 8.9

The Kindle Fire HD 8.9 has zippier navigation than the 7-inch Kindle, a beautiful high-definition screen, incredibly fast 4G LTE speeds, seamless streaming performance, and access to one of the best media eco systems available. The larger, higher-resolution screen better facilitates Amazon's still-new Kindle Fire interface, and its faster processor makes for a much smoother experience. The Fire HD 8.9 has superior video-streaming prowess and is also a lot cheaper than the iPad in both Wi-Fi (starting at $299) and 4G LTE (starting at $499) models. Although the Kindle Fire is not as versatile as the top Android tablets and not as cheap as the Nook HD+, it’s the best version of the Kindle Fire yet and the best media consumption tablet available.

The Barnes & Noble Nook HD+

The Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ 9-inch tablet prices at only $269, has a sharp screen, good performance, and a microSD slot. It's also lightweight, comfortable, and implements magazines and catalogs better than any other Android tablet. While it still lacks some popular TV shows and movies, has no native music feature, and apps support pales in comparison to the competition, the Nook HD+ is a low-price, quality entry point into the world of tablets. The Nook HD+ does come preloaded with both Spotify and Pandora, however. Those looking for a pc tablet computer to simply load their own content onto will find the HD+'s low price and expandable storage extremely appealing.

Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700

The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity 700 offers a great Full HD screen, a powerful processor, a handy optional keyboard dock and Google's Ice Cream Sandwich software, making it one of the the best 10-inch Android tablets around. The Asus Transformer high-resolution screen rivals the new iPad's display in sharpness and clarity. Also, apps launch quickly, GPS works well, and its rear camera is one of the best on any Android tablet. The tablet's body has a great thin and light design. The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 is one of the fastest Android tablets out there, combining an already proven design with a better camera, a faster processor, and a beautiful screen. The TF700 measures 0.33 inch thick and it encloses its guts in an almost complete aluminum unibody design. The TF700 sports a unique back-panel design that replaces a small portion of the metal back with a tabletwide, inch-long plastic panel in order to allow the GPS signal to more easily enter and exit the tablet. The Transformer is at the more expensive end of the tablet spectrum starting at $449.

So there you have it, a hand-picked sampling of some of 2012’s most popular tablets. If you still can’t decide which tablet would put the biggest smile on your loved ones face, feel free to leave us a message. We promise not to spoil the secret!

ARCHOS GamePad Press Release

10:49 AM

The Wait is Over...

ATTENTION SERIOUS GAMERS:
Prepare your thumbs!

Because today we are introducing the availability of our first gaming tablet: the ARCHOS GamePad with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean!

Since the tablet and Smartphone market boom, gamers have longed for a touchscreen device with physical controls to suit their gaming desires. They don’t have to wait any longer! Here at ARCHOS we’re excited to announce the release of the ARCHOS GamePad powered by Android 4.1, Jelly Bean. It is now available for purchase in Europe and will be soon in the US!

We’ve paired physical gaming controls with a full Android touchscreen tablet to satisfy the practical AND entertainment needs of gaming enthusiasts.

The GamePad features a 7-inch, capacitive screen, physical control buttons and analog sticks and runs a dual-core processor @ 1.6 GHz combined with a Mali 400mp quad-core GPU. The GamePad’s patented game recognition and mapping technology ensures that the physical buttons are compatible with Android games that use virtual controls. The gaming controls include an integrated D-pad, ABXY buttons, and two analog thumbsticks. Unlike other disappointing tablets with touch controls that lacked response and compatibility for their advanced games, the GamePad is already compatible with a thousand advanced game titles. The device will also have full access to the Google Play market’s tens of thousands of games.

Other specs include 8GB of internal storage, plus a microSD card slot that adds up to 64GB. Bring the fun of your gaming tablet to a larger screen with the device’s mini-HDMI connection for outputting content to your TV.

The GamePad will be available in the US starting in the first quarter of 2013. An exact date has not yet been given for North American ARCHOS fans, but don’t you fret, the minute we find out, we will be sure to share it with you!
